We all make mistakes, it’s inevitable, and it’s also part of a process.
We sometimes rely on mistakes too often as a learning tool, and do not complete the learning process through the loop of performing an action, making the mistake, reflection, finding a solution, and trying again. We must make sure we address the mistake, otherwise we miss a great opportunity to learn. It’s vital we allow young players to experience the mistake and not remove all obstacles and to not give them the answer before they have searched for their own solutions through guided discovery.
