Recreation Soccer, Fall 2020, Join Us

This Fall we will be having online soccer clinics for players. These clinics will focus on fast feet, manipulation, and skill acquisition. We will be able to create a curriculum that take up limited space (indoor or outdoor) and requires limited equipment (just a ball).

As directors of the program we have met and were able to put together a return to play protocol, however, due to certain circumstances we do not feel comfortable with having the Recreation program go ahead at this time with in person sessions. We appreciate that volunteers would be putting their own health at risk, and with the closure of school fields, we would not be able to guarantee while using City parks a controlled environment where we can create a sterile playing area. As per CDC guidelines, the safest place to maintain good health and lowest risk of contraction is by sheltering at home.

Travis Cabral Named Assistant Coach for Evergreen Valley College Women’s Team

Fremont Youth Soccer Club would like to congratulate Coach Travis on being named assistant coach with Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, CA. Travis will be working with the college women’s program as an Assistant Coach and Social Media Editor.

“I’m very excited to be with Evergreen Valley College women’s program. I feel this will be a new challenge for me as a coach. It will also be a new way to step outside my comfort zone, to help with and be around player development at the college playing level. I’m looking forward to the season and continuing my learning and development as a coach.”   – Travis Cabral

While with the college, Travis will remain with Fremont YSC and continue his coaching and director roles.

Fantasy EPL 2019/20 Winner – Michael Harrison

Congratulations to this seasons winner – Michael Harrison.

It went all the way to the very last game of what has been a unique season, and with the unexpected mid-season break. Fremont YSC’s very own Jordan Conklin had been out on his own as the leader since week 1, but like Leicester, he bottled it at the very end. Only 4 points separated 1st and 2nd place this season.

Michael is a huge Swansea City fan, since his days as a young wannabe Neville Southall, Michael would often be at the Vetch Field to support the Swans, but now you’ll see him at the Liberty Stadium with his Union Jack and Swansea City Jack’s half and half scarf. However, from afar, he will this season be cheering them on in the Championship Playoffs where he hopes they knock out local rivals Cardiff City. When asked for comment about his big victory Michael replied, ‘When I’m not fighting crime I’m researching my weekly transfers and studying the best week to use my game chips’. Congratulations Michael.

Cyber Soccer Camp = Lemonade!

This week we hosted our free online camp for any youth athlete to participate in, and we had a great week with hundreds of youth athlete’s. During SIP we introduced our ‘When Life Gives You Lemons’ online program, the camp was the finishing touches to our ‘lemonade’!

Participants got creative, not everyone having cones they would use teddy bears, shoes, and any object they could find to set up small playing areas, a throwback to street soccer with jumpers for goalposts!

Daily the participants worked on their juggling, dribbling/ball manipulation, and fitness with a ball topics, in a small playing area for all to be able to participate from home. Additionally the players received information about the pillars of a players development, with the physiological, psychological, social, and technical/tactical. There are many elements that go in to these interconnected structures, and some of the information can be found on our website –
