Competitive Evaluations.
Talent Identification & Team Selections.
Fremont YSC Talent Identification and Team Selection will take away the pressure of testing, and will use a snapshot of the player’s current level of ability to place them into pools/teams of similar ability, so the individuals within that group of players will have the best possible opportunity to grow. All players deserve the opportunity to practice, play, and progress, no matter what the current level of play may be.
The Fremont YSC Player
The Fremont YSC Competitive Program is for players who want to develop not only their technical soccer ability, but also to grow and develop important individual characteristics, including social skills, and psychological and physiological development. Fremont YSC coaching staff specifically focus on the development of the individual and create an environment where players can be creative, play without fear, and develop an open mindset to learning.

About Talent Identification
Talent Identification is a prediction of future performance, no one can accurately predict the development pathway of a player while not knowing how maturation years will affect the player as a whole.
In consideration of maturation rates, all U9 & U10 players are selected and assigned to teams based on their birth month. Through identification of players throughout the season, any player we feel needs to be challenged will be invited to practice with another group that would meet their needs while still playing for their initial team.
Evaluations Process
Evaluations (tryouts) are in May, with timing based on a player’s birth year. You will be directed to the appropriate group upon registration. See below and in the Evaluation Information booklet for the full schedule.
We will be hosting a parent engagement meeting in preparation for evaluations, which is an opportunity for you to get familiar with the club, our philosophy, structures, and specific evaluation information. The material to be covered can be found in the helpful information section below, but we strongly encourage all parents to attend the meeting and ask questions.

Year-Round Talent Identification and Team Selection Evaluations
Players are welcome to be evaluated throughout the year to join the Competitive Program. Attendance to a team's practice session is considered an evaluation, during which the coach will determine the most appropriate program and team for your child. If interested in an in-season evaluation, please follow the process below:
1. If you are a member of any other NorCal Premier Club during the playing season, you must provide us with confirmation that you have permission to train with another club.
2. Sign up to submit your details and be invited to a training session. (Form only available during the playing season.)
3. You will be notified by email of the schedule of the appropriate age group, with the coach inviting you to practice.
4. You will be provided with an electronic evaluation form to present to the coach at the field. The coach will record your details and will submit selection to the Sporting Director.
5. Once staff confirms appropriate selection, an email to register will be sent out.
In line with Nor Cal procedures, if you are intending to join us from a competitive program, you must inform us first so we can obtain written consent from the previous club's Director of Coaching. There is a window for when players may move between clubs, and for clubs to hold official evaluations. At Fremont Youth Soccer Club, we intend to work with full integrity and with all clubs to enable continuity for teams across all clubs.
